Criteria
Applications for this award must be full time female students who will be juniors or seniors in the coming academic year, and who have at
least two semesters of study remaining prior to graduation. Applicants must be pursuing a major in the computer science program at
Bowling Green State University.
Selection will be based on
- academic achievement
- financial need
- evidence of leadership skills, and
professional potential
Selection Process
The responsibility for selection of the recipient rests with the
Undergraduate Committee of the Department of Computer Science, in
conjunction with a member of Shanon's family.
Amount of the Award
The amount of the award is determined by the spending policy of the BGSU Foundation Board of Directors. This fund is endowed. Only the interest generated by the endowment is to be used, allowing the award to be given in perpetuity. If the income from the account exceeds
$1,000 in a given year, the award may be split among two or more students, at the discretion of the committee. The
award(s) are to be deposited in the BGSU bursar account of the recipient.
Scholarship Administrator
The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences is the administrator of this award.
